Sub Zero says they started a New York Burrito franchise in Orem, Utah. A current trend in the food industry is a deli style. Deli style means giving the customer more choices, and the product is fresher. They had space available in the store, so they started looking for a way to provide ice cream and other frozen deserts. They looked at a marble stone concept but determined that if the ice cream was already frozen it would reduce the choices. That’s when owner Jerry Hancock thought about his science background. He decided to use a cryogenic solution to flash freeze the cream mixture. They stock only fresh cream mixes and allow the customer to determine what flavor to have mixed in. This way the customers get to determine what flavors they prefer and how strong the flavoring will be. They also get to pick the texture since we can control how frozen it gets. Truly custom ice cream!
